Unmanned Surface vessels (USV) in maritime operations are becoming a new reality at sea, with multiple platforms being developed from different sizes and shapes. This new vehicle raises many questions regarding the legal frame of these operations. Based on its experience with its DriX USV, Exail aims to present the existing legal solutions to allow a safe operational use of USV in the context of an emerging specific legal frame for unmanned platforms.
